I follow my joy...

Updated: Oct 25, 2022

I follow my joy by eliminating fear and doubt. How do you do this, I hear you say. Well, it's not easy. It's hard to stay positive all the time and an impossibility being human. We should never force ourselves to be positive all the time, we should be comfortable feeling whatever we feel. I love to start my day with some positive affirmations, whether its picking a card from one of my card decks or finding a positive quote online. It all helps to put things into perspective and motivates me to begin my day in the best frame of mind.

Of course life isn't always peachy. Recently I experienced a crisis of confidence and a period of questioning my own abilities and drive. I deleted all my previous posts and decided to hide again where I felt safe and unseen. There is a fear of vulnerability and judgment when putting one's head above the parapet. We live in a judgemental society and we all do it. With some help and some wise words I realised that the judgement came from within, I was my own worst critic and other people's judgement is their business, not mine. Got to love some Eckhart Tolle wisdom in the emotional toolkit. So, to go public with my artwork felt very exposed, but with the kindness and support of my family and friends, I got back into the world of Instagram, my website is in the process of being updated and I will be writing my monthly posts again.

My art is not just a passion, it brings meaning to my world. Through art I have found my voice. In sharing my work I feel a sense of freedom, a connection to others, nature and spirituality. The practice of drawing, painting and creating brings me joy, comfort, peace and a sense of calm and safety. In following my joy and putting myself out there I have made many wonderful connections with other artists and creatives, who have motivated and encouraged me, given me new ideas and an insight into their world. A world where we get to create our own reality and for me, a journey of spiritual growth, healing and discovery.

Through pursuing my passion for art I have found the courage to let go of my fears of being seen and any doubts I had in my ability. I choose to follow my joy and in doing so hope to inspire others to do the same. Please feel free to comment and share with me what brings joy into your world. It can be the simplest of things. I read and reply to all comments. Subscribe to my monthly posts and you'll get an email straight into your inbox. Thank you for spending some time here with me and my pondering mind.

"Your profession is not what brings home your weekly pay check, your profession is what you're put here on Earth to do, with such passion and such intensity that it becomes spiritual in calling."

- Vincent Van Gogh

Have a creative month.

Sending you love & light,

Clare
